Creating connection through creativity

Love Covers is a 501c(3) non-profit organization located in south Thurston County, Washington. Love Covers exists to connect people from diverse backgrounds by forming mentorship relationships and sharing the joy of the creative process through the art of sewing. Love Covers provides the space, skilled mentoring, and all materials for people who lack access and opportunity to learn this skill and the life-long lessons woven within the art of sewing and quilting.

Love Covers was born out of the dreams and desires of the long-standing friendship between Patti Ledesma and Cat Wallace. Over years of ministry together from teaching moms and their children how to make gingerbread houses, serving food to the homeless at Union Gospel Mission, to leading women and youngsters how to sew at Calvary Chapel Olympia, Patti and Cat have pursued a common goal—encourage others while sharing the talents they possess. Their friendship has given rise to many shared interests, including sewing and longarm quilting. Their love of sewing and quilting coupled with their passion for serving others, fuels the mission of Love Covers. Together, they desire to provide an environment where people from diverse backgrounds and seasons of life may connect and express themselves creatively in community. This dream is often fulfilled at The Cottage, Patti’s large sewing studio located at her residence. Here, she and the Love Covers team connect with people from all backgrounds and skill levels to foster mentorship relationships and experience the joy of creativity together.
